Won’t You Walk With Us?

Well, they did it. The boys started walking. I was beginning to wonder if it would ever happen. Isaac decided to take more than just a couple of steps on February 3rd and Adrian followed his lead on February 11th - just before they were 15 months old. I couldn’t be prouder. Isaac is a little unsteady. He is the wild walker. He doesn’t feel quite as comfortable doing it yet. Adrian is a cool cucumber when he walks. He does laps around the house all day every day. He will be running soon.

Lately, it seems like Isaac and Adrian are discovering something new about their world every day. It is amazing to witness this. Let me tell you what they love to do . . .

They love to crawl up and down the stairs, knock on doors, clap their hands, give a fist bump, blow kisses, dance, listen to music, climb onto the furniture, empty the kitchen cabinets, tear the leaves off of plants, eat anything off of Mommy & Papa’s plates, “help” Mommy & Papa unload the dishwasher, tear up magazines, push each other on their riding toys, run to the pantry, dishwasher or refrigerator anytime I open one of them, empty the pantry, read books, try to turn the stove top burner knobs, try to open the baby gate at the top of the stairs, baths, and 100 other things I have already forgotten.

Let’s not forget that they are individuals and their personalities are very different. So, there are lots of things that they each love to do independent of the other . . .

Adrian loves to touch the oven and say, “hot”, bite his brother, kiss his brother, stick his tongue out when he is concentrating (he is always concentrating), eat and eat and eat, especially marshmallows, drink out of a water bottle, being tickled, animals.

Isaac loves to blow on his food or on the air when you say, “hot”, to be held by Mommy or Papa, to go downstairs to take Tori (our dog) outside, watch TV, steal Adrian’s toys, drinking milk, attention of any kind.

Words they both say a lot right now: up, truck, duck, hot, stuck, no, yeah, go

Words they both sign a lot right now: dog, Papa, Jessi (our nanny), bath time, milk, eat, sleepy, more, shoe, ball, brush teeth, all done, light, truck

The amazing thing about the boys is that they understand every word that comes out of our mouths.

Isaac got his second haircut today. Dave took him and we decided to cut off all of his curls. His hair was getting a little too shaggy. I already miss the curls . . .
